Brian Beggs named president of BC Hot House Foods
BC Hot House Foods Inc. in Surrey, British Columbia, has announced the appointment of Brian Beggs as president.
With the concurrence and support of the board of directors, Al Vangelos, acting president and chief executive officer of BC Hot House Foods, announced the appointment of Mr. Beggs as president effective Dec. 15.
"Both the board of directors and I recognize the many valuable contributions and excellent job that Brian has done over the past two years for BC Hot House and feel that he is ideally suited to lead our large grower-based organization during this period of significant industry change," Mr. Vangelos said in a Dec. 15 statement.
"I welcome the opportunity to work with this outstanding team of fellow executives as we introduce a new business model", Mr. Beggs added.
Mr. Beggs is known for his strategic planning, creativity, motivation and results. Most recently he held the positions of chief financial officer and vice president of finance with BC Hot House, a world leader in the hydroponically grown produce industry. During this two-year tenure, he successfully led the development of a number of key strategic initiatives for the organization, including improving the flow of financial reporting, corporate restructuring and overseeing the sale of key financial assets. All efforts have been aimed at improving net grower return and improving the equity position of the organization as a whole.
Mr. Beggs brings a wealth of senior executive experience to BC Hot House, including a wide range of experience from multiple industries within the United States and internationally. Before coming to BC Hot House, he held the posts of CEO and CFO for NCMX Inc., a computer network services organization based in Seattle. While there, he led the successful reorganization of the firm. Prior to this, he served as CFO for Consolidated Factors, a seafood company in California. He also served as vice president and CFO for a golf development organization, and he was vice president of finance and CFO for the Seattle Mariners and controller of a division of Dole Foods in Thailand.
