CHEP announces new contract with Del Monte Fresh Produce
CHEP, a leading provider of managed pallet pooling solutions, announced a new contract for shipping platform solutions with Del Monte Fresh Produce, one of the nation’s larger marketers and distributors of high-quality fresh and fresh-cut fruit and vegetables.
Del Monte Fresh Produce transports branded bananas, melons and pineapples to supermarket chains, club stores, foodservice distributors and wholesalers across North America on CHEP pallets. CHEP has been the preferred shipping platform for Del Monte Fresh Produce in North America since 2006 because it aligns with customer requirements, eliminates most product damage and rejections, and meets the company’s environmental sustainability objectives.
Emanuel Lazopoulos, senior vice president-North America sales and product management at Del Monte Fresh Produce, said in a press release, “CHEP consistently delivers high-quality, reliable pooling solutions to our facilities and consistently demonstrates in-country expertise that results in our products being delivered to our customers without us having to worry about the reliability and quality of our pallets.”
“Fresh Del Monte and CHEP USA continue to be long-term, strategic partners aligned on both productivity improvement and environmental sustainability issues,” Michael Pooley, senior vice president of sales at CHEP USA, added in the press release. “The CHEP business model has been tested by Del Monte and other great companies, and has consistently delivered value to the retail supply chain for more than 50 years.”
