IPM Essen will open its doors for the 31st time Jan. 22-25 to an expected 60,000 trade visitors. Show offerings will include plants, technology and floristry and garden features, a news release stated. Ilse Aigner, Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture & Consumer Protection for the German federal government, has once again agreed to be the patron of the trade fair in Essen, Germany, the sponsors indicated.
About 1,500 exhibitors from more than 40 countries will present their products and services and offer trade visitors an overview of the worldwide market, the news release announced. For the first time, Korean exhibitors will appear in the technology section with a joint fair booth, and Sri Lanka and Thailand will also have official national participation for the first time.
Also, organizers promised, Europe’s best florists will demonstrate top-class floristry onstage. They will include the Russian Natalia Zhizhko, winner of the 2011 European Cup of Floral Design, and the runner-up, Niina Minkkinen from Finland. Germany’s most talented young florists will be sought as well for the Eurofleurs Junior Championship and Worldskills Germany 2013.
