TOMRA wins $18.5 million contracts with large agribusiness company in the U.S.
TOMRA Sorting Solutions, through the merger of Odenberg and BEST, has in the last three months been awarded contracts totaling $18.5 million. The order is for optical sorting and peeling equipment to be used at a new high-capacity food processing plant in the United States.
Delivery is estimated to start in early 2013, and the solutions will be used for the processing of both French fries and associated products at the new plant.
"The acquisition of BEST was recently completed, and we are very pleased to see the first results of the merger between Odenberg and BEST," Stefan Ranstrand, TOMRA president and chief executive officer, said in a press release. "These contracts are the first acknowledgement of our market oriented strategy, and how the combined technologies of Odenberg and BEST make us a preferred supplier."
"TOMRA Sorting Solutions now has an extensive product portfolio of sorting, steam peeling, and process analytics technologies, which was a crucial factor for the customer when deciding for TOMRA", Rune Marthinussen, head of TOMRA Sorting Solutions, said in the press release. "In addition, our global product support organization and track record played a key role in securing this deal."
