BC Hot House a finalist in BC Export Awards
BC Hot House Foods Inc. in Surrey, BC, a leader in the greenhouse-grown produce industry, is one of this year's finalists in the 2005 British Columbia Export Awards.
The BC Export Awards recognize companies in British Columbia that are leading the province in developing export markets and channels.
The awards are comprised of three finalists in seven categories: New Exporter, Advancing Technologies, Consumer Products, Manufactured Products, New Media & Entertainment, Primary Products & Resources and Professional & Services.
BC Hot House is one of three finalists in the Consumer Products category including companies that are engaged in marketing, processing and primary production of natural resources.
"We are very pleased and proud to have been selected for this award," Dawn Gray, executive vice president of sales and marketing for BC Hot House, said in a press release. It is really a tribute to the many greenhouse producers that BC Hot House represents. Our success at BC Hot House begins with the folks who produce the finest tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.
In 2004, BC Hot House exported 62 percent of its BC greenhouse-grown tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers to the United States.
The 21 award finalists will be honored at the 2005 BC Export Awards Gala Luncheon Nov. 25 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver, BC.
