W. Newell & Co. taps industry veterans to lead sales team
W. Newell & Co. announced Aug. 1 that Keith Frosceno has joined the company as regional vice president of sales, and Charlie Nealis as area sales director. Both Messrs. Frosceno and Nealis have nearly 20 years' experience in the produce industry.
"Produce has become a key competitive differentiator for retailers as consumer demand for fresh offerings continues to increase," said Gary Gionnette, chief operating officer of the Champaign, IL-based W. Newell & Co. "Both Keith and Charlie have considerable industry expertise that will serve our company well as we bring the W. Newell & Co. 'advantage' to our customers.
Mr. Frosceno is responsible for leading W. Newell's customer sales and service initiatives in the marketplace. He joins the company from Bozzuto's Inc., a wholesale distributor based in Cheshire, CT, where he most recently was vice president of produce and floral. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT.
In his new position, Mr. Nealis works with W. Newell's sales team to implement customer sales and service programs. He joins W. Newell from LSG Sky Chefs, where he was director of procurement for the Americas. Mr. Nealis also has held senior management positions in produce at Fleming Co., Norristown Wholesale Inc. and Sun Fresh Packaging. He has a bachelor's degree in speech and theater from the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in Kutztown, PA.
Both Messrs. Frosceno and Nealis are based in Champaign; their appointments are effective immediately.
