David R. Smith resigns as president and CEO of BC Hot House Foods
BC Hot House Foods Inc. in Surrey, British Columbia, announced July 20 the resignation of David R. Smith as president and chief executive officer.
Mr. Smith contributed three years to BC Hot House, in which time he focused on building and strengthenin g grower relations, acquiring year-round critical mass necessary to service a consolidated customer base, providing customers superior logistics and customer service and differentiating BC Hot House in the industry as a full product line greenhouse p roducer.
"BC Hot House and the board have been outstanding to work for, and I've thoroughly enjoyed the challenges we've dealt with," Mr. Smith said in a statement. "I believe I'm leaving BC Hot House in good shape to meet the challenges of the futur e." Mr. Smith will be returning to his family and home in California to resume previous consulting endeavors.
Al Vangelos, chairman of the board of directors for BC Hot House, will be acting in the capacity of interim CEO during this transition perio d.
