Michael Lopez named Foster's VP of operations
Foster, a leading mid-Atlantic refrigerated supply chain company, announced the appointment of Michael Lopez as vice president of operations, effective May 25.
A 20-year retired U.S. Army veteran who served with the XVIII Airborne Corps, Lopez has more than two decades of hands-on operational leadership experience across FDA-regulated manufacturing and distribution environments. Most recently, he served as operations manager for a greenfield pet food manufacturing facility, where he was responsible for commissioning the site, building self-directed teams and delivering full P&L accountability for manufacturing, maintenance and warehouse/logistics.
Throughout his career, Lopez has held senior operations roles with Panera Bread, Gaia Herbs, Nutriforce Nutrition and Diageo, consistently driving measurable improvements in efficiency, safety, quality and team performance. He is known for his servant leadership style, deep expertise in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, and ability to build high-performing, accountable teams.
“Michael is exactly the kind of leader we want at Foster,” said Scott Bland, CEO of Foster. “His combination of military discipline, operational excellence, and genuine care for people aligns perfectly with our values. He understands how to build strong teams, improve processes, and deliver results while staying grounded in the day-to-day work that matters most. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
Lopez will oversee all aspects of Foster’s warehousing, transportation and logistics operations as the company continues to grow its vertically integrated supply chain capabilities across the mid-Atlantic.
