TruFresh Logistics brings a custom-fit approach to 3PLs
With 180,000 square feet, 28 dock doors and more than 7,400 pallet positions, Vineland, NJ-based TruFresh Logistics efficiently handles a wide range of fresh produce commodities throughout the year.
During the New Jersey season, the TruFresh facility supports regional produce programs. Outside the local season, products are typically sourced from growing regions throughout North and South America, as well as Europe and other international origins, depending on the commodity.
CEO Nick Pacia said the company’s approach is simple: understand the product, understand the customer and provide dependable service.
“Because our background is in produce, we understand the challenges that come with handling perishable products and the importance of communication, consistency and timing,” Pacia said. “We focus on building long-term relationships and creating solutions that help our customers operate more efficiently.”
TruFresh Logistics specializes in third-party logistics services for the produce industry. Services include cold storage (with more than 6,200 pallet positions), ambient storage (with more than 1,200 pallet positions), repacking, bagging, cross-docking, inventory management, quality control support and nationwide distribution.
The company primarily serves growers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers looking for specialized produce handling and logistics support.
The company launched Vineland operations in 2023 and completed an expansion project the next year. The project grew the size of the facility and boosted its operational capabilities, Pacia said. With additional cold and ambient storage, dedicated repacking and bagging areas, the facility also boasts new production space and upgraded infrastructure tailored specifically for fresh produce, making it more efficient and prepared for the future.
“The expansion has enabled us to support more customer programs while improving operational flow across the facility,” Pacia said. “With the additional space and infrastructure, we can handle greater volume, offer more flexibility, and continue building customized solutions tailored to each customer’s needs.”
The result gives customers a partner with a produce-focused logistics team that can grow with them, while ensuring smooth and reliable service, he said.
Additional features of the TruFresh Logistics facility include:
Multiple temperature-controlled rooms
Dedicated production and repacking areas
USDA-APHIS cold treatment certification
PrimusGFS-certified operations
Convenient access to major East Coast ports and transportation routes
New Ser.Mac optical sorting line with advanced AI technology that carefully analyzes each cherry for softness, color, size, and defects, delivering exceptional consistency, premium quality, and a cleaner, more uniform pack.
Multiple bagging and repacking lines handle citrus, kiwifruit, grapes, cherries and other items. Specialized production and packing equipment supports customer-specific packaging programs and retail-ready solutions, Pacia said. TruFresh Logistics is prepared to grow as needed.
“TruFresh continues to evaluate opportunities for future growth and expanded services as customer demand increases,” Pacia said. “The company remains focused on investing in infrastructure, operational efficiency and long-term partnerships within the produce industry.”
