Beachside Produce highlights year-round vegetable availability at CPMA
Over several decades, Beachside Produce has been showcasing its wide variety of vegetables to buyers at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s annual Convention and Trade Show.
“Beachside is proud to be a partner and excited to be exhibiting at the CPMA show,” said Adrian Espinoza, chief revenue officer at Guadalupe, CA-based Beachside Produce. Espinoza will be available to meet visitors to the Beachside Produce booth No. 1532 on the expo floor.
The broccoli, cauliflower, celery, Romaine, cabbage and other Beachside Produce vegetables are available year-round, grown in California’s Central Coast region and Imperial Valley, as well as several locations in Mexico.
Espinoza said CPMA’s annual event provides Beachside Produce an ideal opportunity to showcase its premium vegetables, with an emphasis on year-round availability. He said national and regional Canadian retail and foodservice buyers are well represented at the CPMA event. The show also attracts some U.S. buyers, particularly when it’s in Toronto, as it is this year.
“One of our goals is to have a stronger presence in Canada, with both retail and foodservice,” he said.
At the Beachside Produce booth, visitors will learn about the variety and different pack options of vegetables offered by the vertically integrated company.
“We will be displaying our Romaine hearts, celery hearts and one-pound Brussels sprouts,” Espinoza said, “as well as our Asian veg that we specialize in, such as Shanghai (bok choy) and Napa (cabbage).”
Espinoza noted that the atmosphere throughout the CPMA event, on the show floor and beyond, is conducive to networking and conversations.
“I feel like the CPMA is a bit more intimate and personal,” he said. “You have a higher quality of personal connections.”
Beachside Produce is known for its premium broccoli, with grower-partners who have generations of expertise growing the field-packed product. The company’s Song Hee Red broccoli brand is just one of its popular Asian vegetables.
Espinoza said Beachside Produce has some news of particular interest to Canadian and Eastern U.S. customers.
“We are excited to announce that Beachside Produce will be developing an eastern broccoli deal this summer through fall season, to keep consistent quality and service for our customers on the eastern seaboard and eastern Canada,” he said.
