Instacart names new chief commercial officer
Ryan Hamburger has been appointed Instacart’s chief commercial officer, joining the company’s senior leadership team.
Hamburger has been with Instacart for over a decade and has played a central role in shaping the company’s commercial organization as it has grown into a leading grocery technology platform in North America.
Over that time, Hamburger has scaled one of the most robust retail partner ecosystems in the industry and has been at the center of many of the company's most important partnerships and milestones — from deepening relationships with leading grocers to bringing new partners onto its platform like Grubhub, Airbnb and Toast. His work has been foundational to how the company partners with retailers to grow orders and GTV, strengthen customer relationships, and his deep understanding of partner needs has helped position Instacart as a true partner to retailers and brands.
Hamburger’s leadership has also been critical in growing its enterprise platform into a key differentiator. He has helped expand the company's suite of ecommerce, fulfillment and in-store technologies, enabling retailers to modernize faster while deepening integrations and long-term partnerships. This includes driving adoption of platform capabilities like Storefront Pro and Carrot Ads, which continue to deepen Instacart's role across retailers’ and brands’ businesses. It also includes growing international demand for its enterprise technologies, as it expands with partners and brings proven capabilities like Storefront and in-store solutions to retailers outside North America.
Hamburger will oversee the company’s commercial partnerships across the Instacart marketplace and enterprise platform. He will work closely with CEO Chris Rogers and the rest of the senior leadership team to further align commercial efforts and deliver long-term value for retailers, brands, customers and shoppers.
