DUDA, a fifth-generation, family-owned-and-operated agricultural and real estate enterprise, recently marked a historic milestone as state leaders joined company executives and family members to celebrate the business’ centennial and the grand opening of its new corporate offices in Oviedo, FL.
During the recent celebration, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson presented DUDA with the prestigious Century Pioneer Family Farms certification. Established in 1985, the program recognizes family-owned farms that have continuously operated in Florida for at least 100 years. To date, 247 families have earned the designation.
The newly unveiled headquarters is a two-story, 29,208-square-foot office building situated on 3.74 acres, designed to support the company’s continued growth and evolving workforce needs. The space features reconfigured work areas with increased natural light, expanded conference and collaboration areas, and an enlarged boardroom. Additional upgrades include new furniture and appliances, enhanced security and virtual front desk technology to streamline the visitor experience.
“Reaching 100 years is a testament to the discipline, innovation and long-term thinking that’s guided our approach across generations,” said CEO Sammy Duda. “While we take pride in our history, we’re equally focused on continuing to evolve and strengthen our operations to create lasting value for the communities we serve.”
Only an estimated 3-5 percent of family-run enterprises make it to the fourth generation, and just 0.02 percent reach the century mark, placing DUDA among a rare group nationwide.
“For our family, this milestone is about more than longevity — it’s about purpose,” said Tracy Duda Chapman, chief legal and administrative officer. “Giving back has always been central to who we are, and we remain deeply committed to supporting the communities where we live and work.”
State Representative Rachel Plakon, who represents part of Seminole County in Florida’s 36th District, also recognized DUDA for its 100-year anniversary with a state proclamation.
