BioWorks names Chris Rose interim general manager
BioWorks Inc., a biological products company for the horticulture industry, has named Chris Rose as interim general manager, effective immediately. The appointment marks a leadership transition aimed at accelerating sales and expansion.
Rose, a biologist, has been with the company since 2013. He has held leadership roles in operations, research and development, and marketing. He succeeds Bill Foster, who led the company for decades.
The company said its next phase will focus on expanding into open-field specialty crops such as grapes, almonds and berries, as well as strengthening its position in the greenhouse market. BioWorks also plans to begin exporting its Trichoderma products from its Victor facility to Brazil and Europe.
"
Today we initiate an important new phase – a phase built on a legacy to honor and an acceleration to execute," Jonas Hipólito, president of BIOTROP, said in a statement. "BioWorks has strong competitive advantages, deep customer relationships and an exceptional team."
BioWorks was founded in 1993. It became part of the BioFirst Group in 2023 and came under the management of BIOTROP, based in Brazil, in early 2026. Foster will remain with the company through May to assist with the transition.
"We are extremely enthusiastic to have Chris step into the general manager role," Foster said in a statement.
