Alexandra Farms at Proflora 2025: Celebrated Colombian floriculture with friends and partners
Alexandra Farms showcased its signature garden roses and diversified floral products at the 31st edition of Proflora, Colombia’s premier international flower trade show. The event, held in early October at the Corferias event center in Bogotá, brought together more than 7,000 visitors and 300 companies from 60 countries, including growers, breeders, designers and floral industry professionals.
The company exhibited more than 70 varieties, including garden roses, dahlias, and tweedia, welcoming longtime partners and new customers to its booth. The display featured floral designs by Holly Heider Chapple, Gabrielle Wile of Wile Events, and Galina Serebriakova of Blum Florals, highlighting the versatility and elegance of Alexandra Farms’ blooms.
Amid the event, Alexandra Farms celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of dedication to bringing high-quality, high-performing garden roses to the global market. The company’s booth incorporated the anniversary theme with commemorative emblems and photos of employees and customers throughout the years. The celebration served as an opportunity to thank the many partners, breeders, and team members who have contributed to the company’s success.
Alexandra Farms received two honors in Proflora’s Outstanding Variety Competition, which recognizes innovation and excellence in floral breeding. The company’s Vicky Gardens! garden rose earned Second Place in the Special Form Rosecategory, while its Magnificent Bells hellebores received First Place in the New Products category for growers.
During the trade show, Alexandra Farms hosted a special industry breakfast for partners, breeders, and wholesale and importer customers. Company President José R. Azout reflected on the company’s journey from a two-hectare experimental plot in 2005 to one of the world’s leading growers of garden roses.
Azout expressed gratitude to the many partners who have supported the company’s growth, including Vicky Martínez of Choice Flowers, Peter Sessler of Mayesh, Mario Vicente of Fresca Farms, Mike Mitchell of Delaware Valley Floral Group, Pieter Fillius of Parfum Flower Company, and David Austin and Steve Smits of David Austin Roses. Designer Holly Heider Chapple also shared remarks celebrating the farm’s legacy and impact.
The breakfast concluded with a video presentation chronicling the company’s first 20 years and its vision for the decades ahead.
As Alexandra Farms looks to the future, the company remains committed to advancing Colombian floriculture and strengthening relationships with partners worldwide. With continued innovation and collaboration, Alexandra Farms plans to celebrate many more milestones at Proflora and beyond.
