Kissabel returns to United States with strong 2025 harvest outlook
The Kissabel apple season has officially begun in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing strong harvest forecasts and a renewed focus on consumer engagement. Sales of the distinctive apples, known for their colored flesh ranging from pink to deep red, are set to begin through partners of the IFORED program, with availability expected in some markets through February.
“Kissabel’s unique appearance, flavor and identity continue to resonate with consumers seeking innovative and high-quality products,” said Emmanuel de Lapparent, manager of the Kissabel program. “Thanks to our partners’ efforts, we anticipate an excellent harvest in both volume and quality. Supported by in-store promotions and marketing activities, Kissabel will further strengthen its position as a distinctive and forward-looking apple brand.”
This year’s season features key partners including NBT in the United States, Worldwide Fruit in the United Kingdom, Mesfruits and Blue Whale in France, Fenaco in Switzerland, Red Apple Germany, and the NovaMela Consortium in Italy, whose members include Melinda, VIP, Rivoira, La Trentina and VOG. The European partners will focus primarily on the Rouge variety.
Early reports point to strong volume and quality across multiple regions. In the United States, NBT will begin its third sales season in early October with the Jaune and Rouge varieties, maintaining quantities in line with expectations and availability through the end of the month.
Marketing efforts are ramping up across all markets. In the United States, brand building remains a priority. “It’s essential that retailers highlight Kissabel’s colored flesh through in-store visuals, packaging, displays and tastings,” said Brianna Shales, marketing director at Stemilt Growers and NBT spokesperson for the Kissabel project. “The goal is to build loyalty and long-term brand recognition.”
