Riggio Distribution Co. has long history attending IFPA Global
Riggio Distribution Co., a cornerstone tenant of the Detroit Produce Terminal, is one of the Midwest’s largest produce wholesalers. The company serves a wide customer base — including independent and chain retailers, wholesale foodservice providers, broadline distributors and food manufacturers — throughout the greater Midwest, southern Ontario and select regions of the South and East Coast.
Offering a comprehensive range of fresh fruits and vegetables, Riggio ships to retail and foodservice clients seven days a week. Its supply network spans the globe, with products arriving by air, sea, rail and truck. At the same time, the company remains committed to supporting local growers, sourcing homegrown produce whenever possible.
The company is looking forward to heading to IFPA’s Global Produce & Floral Show, as it does every year about this time.
“Riggio Distribution attends this show every year, and like most years, we have very specific goals and opportunities for our company and our suppliers,” said Dominic Riggio, president of the company.
Five members of the team will be on-hand, including Phil Riggio, Dominic Riggio Jr., Jim Schick, Jim Mancuso and Matt DeBlouw. The team will be looking to network, talk with current clients and find new opportunities for the business.
While the company won’t have its own booth, Riggio is looking forward to making the most out of the show as possible as an attendee and plans to stop by as many booths as he can to talk about what’s going on the industry.
“At Riggio Distribution, our relationships are the cornerstone of our business,” he said. “The IFPA is a great venue to build on existing relationships as well as start new ones.”
With a long history of attending IFPA shows, Riggio noted a lot goes into ensuring that the day goes smoothly and the company gets the most out of it. At the conclusion of the show, success will be measured by the number of opportunities identified and putting plans in motion to execute those opportunities.
“Sometimes the opportunities come from our suppliers, sometimes we bring them to the table,” Riggio said. “At Riggio Distribution we are always working on new things, while at the same time also staying nimble enough to execute the opportunities that come our way.”
