Eagle Eye enters IEO season with expanded capacity
Eagle Eye Produce is now shipping new crop Idaho-Eastern Oregon onions from its Ontario, OR, warehouse, formerly run by Baker & Murakami.
This marks the company’s first season operating out of the Ontario facility, one of the largest fresh pack operations in the Treasure Valley, and a milestone that further establishes Eagle Eye as a powerhouse in the region.
“This is an exciting time for us,” said Joe Ange, director of onion sales at Eagle Eye. “It is our first season shipping out of the new Ontario warehouse, and the response from our grower base and our customers has already been very positive.”
The Ontario warehouse is equipped with optical sizers and graders, AI sorting technology, a retail packingline and railcar capability. With these tools, Eagle Eye can efficiently manage large volumes while maintaining consistency in pack quality.
“Our goal is always to make life easier for our customers,” Ange said. “We start at the customer and work backward. This operation allows us to provide more retail options, from small consumer packs to private label programs.”
Eagle Eye can pack everything from two-pound retail bags to bulk foodservice packs, giving customers a wide range of choices to fit their needs.
Customers have also enjoyed a seamless transition thanks to the hard work and commitment of the top-notch team in Ontario, whose dedication shows through every step of the growing, storage and packing process.
The Ontario facility is now the fourth and largest packingshed in Eagle Eye’s Idaho and Oregon network. This expanded footprint gives the company flexibility and creativity when navigating challenges in an ever-changing business.
“We are looking forward to putting this new operation to work throughout the upcoming season and showing our customers what it can deliver,” Ange said.
With the Ontario facility now fully online, Eagle Eye Produce enters the season with expanded capabilities, a stronger team, and the capacity to support customers across a wider range of markets.
