Nickey Gregory Co. spreading the word on new retail support division
Nickey Gregory Co., which sits on the Atlanta State Farmer’s Market, is a go-to fresh produce distributor, repacker and processor, offering overnight delivery throughout the Southeast. The Forest Park, GA-based company has grown over the years to now include two warehouses, totaling more than 150,000 square feet, and employing more than 300 people.
Since its founding in 2000, the company has exhibited at both SEPC events every year and anticipates a great Southern Innovations show ahead.
“We enjoy their shows because they bring in quality produce decision makers that walk the floor,” said Andrew Scott, vice president of business development and marketing for the company. “Our primary goals are to educate attendees on our Family Fresh Foods processing division and our new Retail DSD Support Division.”
Nickey Gregory himself will be leading a group of seven from the company at the show, ready to do business and talk about all the trends that are impacting the produce industry.
“We are seeing more trends toward value-added, time-saving items for the foodservice operator that we’re producing at our Family Fresh Foods,” Scott said. “With labor still an issue at the foodservice/kitchen level, we help save prep time with ready to eat fresh produce.”
Nickey Gregory Co. will be at booth No. 302 at this year’s show where the team will showcase a wide variety of fresh cut fruits and vegetables for the foodservice and retail sectors.
“Moving into the fall months, we create a few fresh cut/seasonal items, including one of our more popular items, 2 by 5-pound winter blend,” Scott said. “This is a combination of cubed butternut, cubed rutabaga and cubed carrots that are vacuum sealed.”
One of the key goals for those at the company is to network, as the team has learned that it’s an important aspect for the growth of the business.
“We advertise with most produce publications and we’re proud to be Gold Members of the SEPC,” Scott said. “SEPC provides the intimate setting for networking and it’s worked for over 20 years.”
In fact, the company always comes back with positive feedback and new customers and goals for the year ahead.
“For us, a successful show is finding another customer or two that may know who we are, but haven’t done business with yet,” Scott said. “We enjoy these shows because we get to see both our customers and vendors under one roof.”
2025 was a big year for Nickey Gregory Co., as it turned 25, and things are only getting better. “Nickey and Cheryl Gregory have come a long way from a single cooler and truck to two warehouses totaling 150,000 square feet,” Scott said.
“We are excited about closing the year strong, especially at our Retail Support Division. Next year, we will continue to grow the new segments of our business, Family Fresh Foods, established in 2018, and our Retail Support Division, established in October 2024.”
