El Sol Brands introducing its new marinades at Southern Innovations
El Sol Brands has earned a reputation for providing the finest tropical produce to consumers and the Miami-based company has built a strong following — particularly among Hispanic consumers.
The company has more than 100,000 square feet of warehouse space in Miami and New York and can deliver produce over night to most places on the East Coast.
El Sol is gearing up for SEPC’s Southern Innovations show and has a lot of exciting things to share this year.
“We have a brand-new line of marinades to be sold fresh in the produce department that is coming soon,” said Luis Perez, vice president of sales. “This is something that is a completely new item.”
El Sol plans to target all markets with Hispanic flavors with the new Lizeta’s Marinades and that will be a key item on display at the show.
In addition, at booth No. 626, the company will be exhibiting its fresh line of products, including some of its new packaged items, such as baby bok choy in a bag, turmeric from Fiji in a bag and hot peppers — a mix of orange and red.
“We think as an item, a lot of consumers are demanding hot peppers today, because of the little spunk of flavor; so they’re not just hot, but flavorful,” Perez said.
Perez will be joined at the booth by Chris Del Prete, COO of El Sol Brands.
Also at the booth, El Sol will be giving away plantain chips, something that has become mainstream because of its popular Hispanic flavor.
El Sol has growers in Brazil, Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic who are exclusive to the company and take its farmer relationships seriously.
“At El Sol, we believe that true quality begins at the farm,” Perez said. “We collaborate with top growers, partnering closely to cultivate a superior product. From planting and fertilizing to crop maintenance, quality is built into every step using only approved USDA farming practices.”
The company dedicates significant time and resources to ensure that excellence starts right from the planting, fertilization and care of the crops.
“Our strong relationships and rigorous standards allow us to deliver consistent, high-quality products year-round, meeting retail expectations every time,” Perez said.
Southern Innovations is important to El Sol because it allows the company to introduce its products to a segment of the country that may not be as familiar with it as some others.
“A lot of people are moving south from up in the Northeast, and they want to find that line of product that they are used to, so we are there to facilitate those products,” Perez said. “The Mid-Atlantic has grown in its Hispanic population, and we want to bring the El Sol label to that consumer.”
The show allows the company to better represent the El Sol brand and support its retail partners.
“Success at the show is defined in many ways,” Perez said. “If our retailers feel we have shown them the support they are expecting, then they know they can meet their customers’ expectations and consumer expectations. We need to support that with the crucial items they need.”
