MIXTEC's Kristen Reid honored with inaugural Jan DeLyser Trailblazer of the Year Award
Kristen Reid, executive vice president of MIXTEC Group, has been named the first-ever recipient of the Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s Jan DeLyser Trailblazer of the Year Award. The honor was presented at the 2025 FPFC Harvest Forum and Fair, recognizing Reid’s visionary leadership and enduring impact on the produce industry.
Established to celebrate individuals who embody innovation, influence and a commitment to shaping the future of fresh produce and floral, the Jan DeLyser Trailblazer Award pays tribute to Jan DeLyser’s remarkable 47-year career and her legacy of service to the FPFC and the California Avocado Commission.
As the inaugural honoree, Reid exemplifies the spirit of the award through her original approach to leadership and her commitment to advancing the industry. Her work has not only elevated talent and championed emerging leaders but also driven meaningful organizational change. Through her involvement with the FPFC, Reid has helped modernize processes, strengthen engagement and shape initiatives that reflect the evolving needs of the next generation.
“Kristen’s work has always been about more than executive search — it’s about building the future of our industry,” said Jerry Butt, president and CEO of MIXTEC Group. “She brings clarity, compassion and strategic insight to everything she does. Her recognition as the first Trailblazer of the Year is a proud moment for all of us who’ve seen her shape careers, companies and conversations across the produce landscape.”
Reid joined MIXTEC Group in 2008 and has played a pivotal role in refining the firm’s approach to executive recruitment, leadership development and strategic outreach. She’s a trusted advisor, an avid industry volunteer and a tireless connector across sectors. Through her work, MIXTEC has deepened its impact by helping organizations across the fresh produce supply chain identify, attract and engage transformative executive talent.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the FPFC,” said Reid. “The efforts I have made to drive change in the industry have not been a solo act. I am fortunate to have many people in my life that encourage me and push me to speak up and challenge the status quo. I’m grateful to the FPFC for this recognition and to the incredible community that continues to inspire me every day.”
The launch of the Jan DeLyser Trailblazer Award marks a meaningful addition to the FPFC Harvest Forum and Fair, spotlighting leadership and innovation across the fresh produce and floral sectors. Reid’s recognition as the inaugural recipient underscores the value of forward-thinking leadership and the impact of those who help shape the industry’s future.
