California table grape season underway at Top Brass Produce
Top Brass Produce, a family owned fourth generation premier California table grape grower, kicked off its 2025 harvest right on schedule in early July. With demand steadily rising for domestic grapes, Top Brass is currently shipping a strong lineup of both traditional and high-flavor varieties.
On the red side, Flame, Bebop and Scarlet Royal grapes are leading the charge. For green grape fans, Ivory and Sweet Globe are available and showing excellent quality. Rounding out the offering are the company’s signature high-flavor variety, Candy Snap.
“California weather has been very favorable this season, and the fruit quality is excellent across the board,” said April Myers.
Despite ongoing competition from cherries, strawberries and blueberries in the market, Top Brass is seeing building momentum as retailers and consumers shift focus to grapes. The transition from Mexican to California-grown grapes has been smooth, and anticipation for the new crop was high going into the season.
Labor and water are two of the many variables that all farmers here in California are concerned about. The team at Top Brass has been farming in California for over 70 years. The team has built a strategic plan to manage these variables, and our long-term efforts and success are a testament to the commitment to growing the highest quality table grapes and organic potatoes.
In company news, Top Brass announced earlier this year the promotion of April Myers to president of sales. Myers, who has been with the company since 1998, now oversees all sales for the company’s table grape and organic potato programs.
The company is thrilled to have Myers in this new leadership role. Her deep industry knowledge and long-standing commitment to Top Brass make her the ideal person to lead the sales efforts moving forward.
