NNZ appoints new CEO to succeed retiring leader Len Boot
NNZ, a leading multinational company that offers packaging materials for agricultural and industrial products, announced the retirement of longtime CEO Len Boot, effective July 1.
Boot will be replaced by Ronald Hoozemans, who brings a wealth of international experience, a strong sense of purpose and a leadership style that fits naturally with NNZ’s values.
In an open letter announcing his retirement, Boot said that after “35 unforgettable years” it was time for a change.
“It has been the journey of a lifetime,” Boot said. “I’ve had the privilege, together with all my colleagues, to help build, shape and grow NNZ into the international, values-driven company it is today. From a family business with deep roots to a global organization, our story has always been about people, partnerships and purposeful progress.”
Boot went on to thank colleagues, suppliers and customers for the trust, collaboration and support they have offered during his time at the helm of the organization.
“It has meant the world to me,” said Boot, “and it’s what made this journey so rewarding and special.”
Boot said he will transition to a new role as family representative for the supervisory board at the company, where he will continue to support NNZ with a focus on long-term continuity and “staying close to what matters most: our people, our values and our future.”
He said he would stay actively engaged until Aug. 31 to provide time for Hoozemans to establish himself in his new leadership role.
Prior to joining NNZ, Hoozemans led the Benelux and Germany region at Bunzl, working closely with many former family businesses.
Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at SIG, Mediq, Nutricia and Organon, with a consistent focus on innovation, customer value and sustainability.
He studied European studies in Amsterdam and completed executive programs in leadership and digital transformation.
Of his successor, Boot said, “I feel proud and reassured to hand over the baton to someone who understands the essence of NNZ and has the energy and expertise to lead us into a new era. What impressed me most is how well he understands what it means to lead a company that’s both commercially strong and built on family foundations.”
“NNZ is not just a strong international company — it’s a business with a heart, built by a family. That’s what drew me in,” Hoozemans said. “For over 100 years, NNZ has kept evolving while staying true to its roots. I believe lasting impact comes when people work together with trust, commitment, and a shared sense of purpose.
“My mission is to help people, teams, and organizations reach their full potential,” he added. “I look forward to listening, learning and shaping the future of NNZ together — with energy, clarity and a deep respect for its culture and legacy.”
