Willie Itule Produce Inc. announced Gabe Flores as chief people officer and executive director. With over 37 years of leadership experience and deep roots in the grocery retail industry, Flores’ background in fresh produce operations, team development and cultivating people-first cultures adds expertise well-suited to Willie Itule Produce’s business values and growth trajectory.
Flores joins Willie Itule Produce after a decades-long career with Bashas' Family of Stores. He most recently served as director of fresh produce and floral, overseeing 115 locations across multiple banner stores including Bashas' Markets, AJ's Fine Foods, Food City, Dine' Markets and Eddie Country Store. His expertise spans procurement, merchandising, operations and marketing, with a successful track record of building high-performing teams across diverse retail formats.

During his career at Bashas’, Flores successfully implemented innovative programs that generated substantial incremental sales, including an in-house fresh-cut fruit and vegetable program and a freshly squeezed citrus juicing program. He also spearheaded the implementation of AI-driven inventory management software that significantly improved operational efficiency.
In his new role, Flores will focus on advancing the company's people operations, talent development and strategic organizational initiatives.

Flores joined Willie Itule Produce in April 2024 as executive director and will begin his new position effective immediately.
