Alexandra Farms introduces garden roses and dahlias to diverse collections
Alexandra Farms, recognized as the world’s largest grower of fresh-cut garden roses, proudly introduces the newest additions to its esteemed collections. The farm is dedicated to an ongoing quest for extraordinary garden roses, rigorously testing each contender for uniqueness in color, form, fragrance and durability. Each rose must meet a minimum standard of a 10-day vase life after being cultivated, harvested, meticulously packaged and shipped from the farm’s facilities in Bogotá, Colombia.
Deluxe Garden Roses
Aurora Gardens! features large cup blooms with swirling cream and white wavy petals. With a moderately fragrant lavender scent and a delicate yet bold silhouette, this rose makes an ideal choice for both focal and filler roles. Originating from the Netherlands, this variety makes its debut in spring.
Garden Romance offers a voluptuous cabbage bloom composed of lush, scarlet petals. Bred in Germany, this striking variety evokes the magic of a fairytale garden with its rich color and timeless charm.
Pink Butterfly Spr, a spray garden rose also bred in Germany, brings a tropical flair with its playful light pink petals and buttery center. It serves as a versatile and adventurous element in any floral arrangement.
Tie-Dye, a Netherlands-bred introduction, presents a balayage of peach hues blending from deep tangerine to a light orange creamsicle. Its shallow-cupped bloom is complemented by a mild, fruity fragrance, embodying the zest of a citrus garden.
Tip-Top! features a cheerful peach center that gradually softens toward the edges, where the petals are tinged with minty green. This Netherlands-bred rose, with its voluminous and whimsical form, acts as a strong foundation for creative floral compositions.
Vicky Gardens!, another Netherlands-bred standout, is subtly infused with peach tones and a gentle citrus scent. With an abundance of petals and a commanding bloom size, this variety confidently takes center stage in any bouquet.
Wabara Garden Roses
Issei, bred in Japan, captures the essence of a summer sunset with its blend of peach, sand and cream tones. Its flat, rosette bloom is both large and playful, making it a standout among garden roses.
Tsumugi Ulala, pronounced “Ooo la la!”, features an abundance of sparkling peach petals forming a stunning double cup bloom. Though not fragrant, this Japan-bred variety enchants with its ruffled elegance and is a sister to the popular Tsumugi.
Dahlias
Alexandra Farms has also expanded its offerings with the addition of three new dahlia varieties: Diana’s Memory, Doris Duke and Wizard of Oz. These join an expanding collection of dahlias bred specifically for the cut flower market, selected for their vase longevity and reliability. With these additions, the farm now grows 13 dahlia varieties available year-round.
