North American Produce Buyers showcasing in-season offerings from Peru and Chile
North American Produce Buyers, based at the Ontario Food Terminal in Toronto, has been a reliable buyer and wholesaler of international produce, catering to Canadian food retailers for more than 50 years.
CPMA is a show that many in the organization take part in, and everyone from the team is looking forward to what’s ahead.
“We are there to celebrate 100 years of the CPMA,” said Steven Moffat, vice president of finance for the company. “We want to meet with as many of our customers from across Canada as possible. This is a great time to bring everyone together from coast to coast.”
The North American Produce Buyers’ team will be at booth No. 1503, and Moffat will be joined by Gordon Love, vice president of business development; Sam Kanellopoulos, vice president of procurement; Jeremy Smith, produce buyer; and Stephan Schmekel, executive vice president of sales.
“At the booth, we will be displaying all of our current in-season offerings from Peru and Chile,” Moffat said. “A selection of the finest grapes and stone fruits available will be displayed. We are promoting the best varieties and the finest quality in the market.”
A big part of any trade show is the networking opportunity, and the team is ready to go out and talk with as many people as possible.
“We want to be able to sit face to face with customers and hear their feedback on the past season and see how we can work tother in the upcoming seasons,” Moffat said. “There will also be some opportunities to meet with our growing partners from the U.S. to continue discussions surrounding the upcoming grape and stone fruit seasons.”
Just like any show, the team has the right experience to make the event a success.
“We survey the show for any innovative developments and look for new opportunities in the expanding world market,” Moffat said. “Discussions with industry colleagues provides us with insight from all corners of the globe. Importing the finest and best quality produce remains our focus and a determining factor in establishing any new product lines.”
It’s not just walking the floor and meeting people at the booth that those at North American Produce Buyers are excited about. CPMA has a great deal going on, and Moffat said the company is excited about all of it.
“We enjoy attending the after party each year,” he said. “It is a great opportunity to let your hair down after the first day on the show floor and connect in a casual environment. Stephan and Gord will be attending a majority of the CPMA events being held throughout the week.”
