Red Sun Farms showing latest innovations at CPMA
Red Sun Farms is gearing up for the Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s 2025 Convention + Trade Show, understanding that it’s a key event for the Canadian produce scene.
The annual CPMA show brings together retailers, growers and industry professionals to explore new product innovations, evolving consumer demands, sustainability initiatives and technological advancements that shape the future of fresh produce.
“For Red Sun Farms, CPMA is an invaluable opportunity to strengthen relationships, showcase our commitment to quality and innovation and gain insights that help us continue delivering fresh, flavorful and sustainable solutions to our customers,” said Harold Paivarinta, vice president of sales and business development for the Kingsville, ON-based company.
The Red Sun Farms team will be comprised of members from its sales, marketing and leadership teams, ready to discuss key business strategies, crop updates and innovation initiatives.
“We are eager to take part in CPMA’s various events, including networking events and the tradeshow floor, which provide valuable opportunities for collaboration,” Paivarinta said. “This event serves as an essential venue for collaboration, allowing us to engage in meaningful conversations across the supply chain, strengthen partnerships and align our strategies with the future direction of the fresh produce industry and growth of our business.”
At booth No. 2115, Red Sun Farms will be showcasing a variety of tomatoes, peppers and cucumber packaged in various formats to meet the consumer demands.
“These products will represent our seed-to-plate approach and full-year service supply,” Paivarinta said. “Our guests will see the latest product innovations developments, a highlight of our sustainable packaging journey and experience our out of this world Sweetpops difference.”
The booth features a vibrant display of fresh produce, designed to inspire creative merchandising. On top of that, engaging video content showcases recipe ideas, while the company’s dedicated innovation area focuses on advancements in flavor and quality.
“At CPMA, our team will be focused on gaining key insights into emerging industry trends and the evolving needs of our retail and foodservice partners,” Paivarinta said. “The sales team will engage in discussions to better understand shifting consumer preferences, supply chain challenges and opportunities to provide tailored solutions that support our customers’ success.”
Meanwhile, Red Sun Farms’ marketing and operations teams will explore new technologies and innovations aimed at enhancing efficiencies, sustainability and overall product quality.
“From advancements in packaging to automation in greenhouse production, CPMA offers a valuable platform to connect with industry leaders and discover solutions that will drive our business forward,” Paivarinta said. “A successful show provides the opportunity to reconnect with our retail partners, align on shared goals for 2025, and initiate planning discussions for 2026.”
As Red Sun Farms welcomes spring, excitement is building around the company’s expansion efforts in Mexico, where it is investing in 22 additional acres of high-tech greenhouse production.
“This growth reflects our commitment to meeting increasing customer demand while ensuring a consistent, high-quality supply of fresh produce,” Paivarinta said.
Red Sun Farms is committed to staying ahead of market shifts by ensuring consistent supply, adaptability and responsiveness to evolving consumer and retail demands.
“As inflation continues to influence purchasing decisions, we remain focused on delivering exceptional value without compromising on quality or sustainability,” Paivarinta said. “Balancing affordability and sustainability is a challenge, but it’s one we embrace by optimizing our operations, investing in innovative growing techniques and developing cost-effective, eco-friendly solutions that align with both retailer and consumer expectations.”
With the produce industry constantly evolving, agility is key to the company’s success.
“Our team is dedicated to quickly adjusting strategies, fine-tuning production planning and strengthening our supply chain to ensure a seamless, reliable supply for our customers while continuing to drive innovation and long-term category growth,” Paivarinta said.
