CPMA announces new staff positions and structure
OTTAWA -- The Canadian Produce Marketing Association announced Oct. 10 changes within its organizational structure to meet the growing needs of members as the industry evolves in a climate of rapid change and fluctuating government regulations.
Effective immediately, Jane Proctor will take on the role of vice president of policy and issue management to provide a focus on the key pillars of food safety, government regulations, health and nutrition, industry technology and education. She will work with a staff of issue experts including two newly appointed managers -- Sally Blackman, manager of health and nutrition, and Bev Appleby, manager of government relations and industry technology -- along with Heather Holland, senior manager of food safety, special projects and education.
Tracy Todd will take on the position of vice president of finance and operations to address key foundational areas within CPMA operations, ensuring effective utilization of association resources and long-term sustainability of the association. She will work with a team which includes St?phane Landreville, the newly appointed senior manager of information technology, along with Andrea Worrell, accounting assistant, and Colleen O'Neill, administrative assistant. Her team will also include a new support position, a web and software support specialist.
"Tracy and Jane have demonstrated their abilities and their commitment to CPMA and the industry over their years with CPMA, and working with [CPMA President] Dan [Dempster] and the staff of CPMA, will be a key component of CPMA efforts on behalf of industry as we head towards our premier event, our 84th convention and trade show," CPMA Chairman Beth Pattillo said in a press release.
As part of the new structure at CPMA offices, a new position will take on the role of corporate development and will oversee all of the association's marketing and communications efforts. The director of corporate development will work with a team which includes Carole Brault, newly appointed senior manager of convention and trade show; Lyse McClelland, membership development manager; David Shaw, marketing coordinator; and two new positions: senior manager of marketing and communications, and manager of trade show and events.
"CPMA has continuously evolved over my 31 years on staff in order to meet industry needs. These new appointments and change in structure [are] exciting as they address clearly the key areas of focus [that the] industry and the association have," Mr. Dempster said in the release. "There is a new buzz at CPMA, and we are all looking forward to the years ahead as we work collaboratively amongst industry, the CPMA board and executive."
