Eurofresh marketing campaign focusing on locally grown
Eurofresh Farms in Willcox, AZ, is launching a new marketing program designed to educate Arizona shoppers about the advantages of buying locally grown Eurofresh tomatoes.
Eurofresh is bringing back the familiar "Arizona Grown" logo and will include it on all packages and all materials shipped to Arizona grocery stores.
"We know food safety, sustainability and locally grown are top of mind with shoppers," Dwight Ferguson, chief executive officer of Eurofresh Farms, said in a press release. "We are going to work with our retail partners to educate shoppers that when they buy Eurofresh tomatoes, they can be assured they are buying the safest, best-tasting, most responsibly grown tomatoes in the marketplace."
Eurofresh will help retailers create an "Arizona Grown" destination in their produce departments and will provide signage as well as information about the advantages of buying local to chains' consumer affairs directors for use in-store and on-line.
The same information is going to Arizona media and to leading chefs and restaurants in Tucson and Phoenix.
Shoppers prefer doing business with local companies, according to a new study from Conscious Consumer Reports. In fact, in the study, shoppers ranked buying local even higher than buying organic.
"We know that relationships, trust and accountability are increasingly important when it comes to how shoppers make decisions about buying food," Mr. Ferguson added in the press release.
Consumer safety and product quality are top priorities at Eurofresh. "We adhere to some of the most stringent food-handling practices in the industry and have never experienced a reported foodborne illnesses in our company's 16-year history," he said. "Arizona families can rely on Eurofresh Farms to deliver the freshest, safest, most environmentally responsible tomatoes."
