Sweetbay Supermarket announces new vice president of human resources
Sweetbay Supermarket, the Tampa, FL-based supermarket company of the Belgium-based Delhaize Group, has named Lori Malcolm vice president of human resources at the supermarket chain.
Ms. Malcolm's primary responsibilities include promoting Sweetbay's passion for food and passion for people among associates, senior managers, and operating officers and directors. She will also be responsible for enhancing Sweetbay's corporate culture and values, helping to create a vibrant place to work for the employees.
"We are thrilled to have Lori join the Sweetbay team," Shelley Broader, president and chief executive officer of Sweetbay Supermarket, said in a press release. "We are excited about Lori's ability to shape and mold leaders, as well as her desire to help accomplish Sweetbay's important business goals. She brings terrific experience to our company."
With more than 20 years experience in the areas of finance, marketing, information technology and human resources management, Ms. Malcolm brings expertise in developing effective organizations and building high- performing teams. Previously, she held the title of senior director of human resources transformation at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. She was one of five leaders selected across all human resources areas to design the next generation of HR within the organization.
Prior to working with Wal-Mart, Ms. Malcolm held various positions in marketing and recruitment for Disney Worldwide Services Inc. in Lake Buena Vista, FL; Robert Half International in Orlando, FL; and IBM Corp. in Annapolis, MD. She has participated in several professional training seminars including the Business Leadership Series and the Corporate Leadership Council, and holds an HR Professional Certification. Ms. Malcolm received a bachelor's degree in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University.
