Keystone and Cowart team to market 'Vidalia Sugar Sweets'
Keystone Fruit Marketing, based in Greencastle, PA, has teamed with J. Cowart Farms in Lyons, GA, to market Cowart's "Vidalia Sugar Sweets" sweet onions from the famed Vidalia, GA, onion-growing district.
" 'Vidalia's Sugar Sweets' are certified extra sweet because of their low flavor intensity and high levels of sweetness," Jim Cowart of J. Cowart Farms said in a press release. "We are able to do this through incredibly careful cultivation and stringent standards. These onions are extensively tested and certified by National Onion Labs to ensure that consumers get the flavor experience they have come to expect from our product. They're also certified free of pesticide residue by NutriClean."
"We're also vertically integrated from seed to delivery and pack our 'Vidalia's Sugar Sweets' fresh with complete traceability," Anthony Cowart of J. Cowart Farms added in the press release. "That's as important to us as it is to our customers. And our new state-of-the art curing and packing facility means a longer shelf life and better flavor. Because we use a consumer-based model for our operations, we're able to give our customers exactly what their customers want. It really sets us apart from the competition."
Marty Kamer, sales manager of Keystone, added, "We may not be the largest producer in the Vidalia region, but we have the toughest standards. And while our standards and attention to detail set us apart, what really defines us is our understanding of what customers want. We deliver on that expectation every day of the year.
"We are leading the industry in helping the consumer to understand and appreciate what a sweet onion should taste like," Mr. Kamer continued. "A positive flavor experience translates into repeat sales and higher rings for our customers."
