Freedom Fresh joins Pro*Act
MONTEREY, CA -- Pro*Act announced in mid-March that Freedom Fresh LLC in Miami has joined the company's distribution network.
Freedom Fresh was founded by produce veteran Walter Vazquez Sr. and his sons Walter Jr. and Jorge. Together the Vazquez family and their team of produce experts have grown the company to become the premier fresh fruit and vegetable distributor in south Florida, according to Pro*Act. Freedom Fresh provides a full line of conventional, organic and specialty items to wholesale, retail, cruise ship, export and now foodservice customers from its 100,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility.
For almost two decades, Pro*Act has been providing foodservice operators with the distinct benefit of streamlining the produce supply chain -- offering significant cost benefits and an easy, one-call solution to secure the freshest produce from over 70 third-party inspected distribution centers across the United States and Canada.
"As we evaluated our business and the market, we immediately recognized the tremendous opportunity for us in the foodservice segment," Jorge Vazquez said in a March 17 statement from Pro*Act. "More than ever, foodservice customers today are looking for quality and service, which are precisely the cornerstones upon which we have built our business, so it was a clear progression for us. Once we decided that was our direction, the next logical step was to become a Pro*Act member because of their reputation, national coverage and programs."
Walter Vazquez Jr. added in the statement, "We are extremely excited about becoming a Pro*Act distributor.
