Dolbec promotion highlights HydroSerre Mirabel moves
MIRABEL, QC -- Along with celebrating its 20th year in business, HydroSerre Mirabel Inc. has added and promoted a number of key staffers. The company is known for its hydroponic lettuce grown with floating-raft technology in greenhouses here, and it will begin using the process later this year at a new facility in Rickman, TN.
Among the staff changes, Pierre Dolbec, director of sales and marketing, was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing; Richard Lamouche, director of administration and finance, was promoted to vice president of administration and finance; Michel Blanchette was hired as manager of logistics, procurement and quality control; Denis Fiset was hired as human resources manager; Andres Da Silva was hired as Canadian operations general manager; Guy Lariviere was hired as Canadian accounts manager; and Forrest Sawlaw was hired as general manager of HydroSerre Tennessee.
Martin Desrochers, the company's president, told The Produce News that "the additions that we have made to the current staff are in line with the upcoming Tennessee facility and the Mexican marketing agreement that we announced last May. These projects bring our company from a regional operation to an international one, from one production site to three. Because of this fast growth, Mirabel needed to adjust its structure and reinforce its operations, human resources department and sales team. Adding a Canadian account manager gives Pierre Dolbec more time to continue developing the U.S. market. After five years and a tremendous job done, we felt it was appropriate to give Pierre new responsibilities as [a] vice president of the company."
"I am quite pleased with the confidence that the board has placed in me with the many challenges ahead," Mr. Dolbec told The Produce News. "After 20 years of consolidating its unique growing technology and offering quality products, HydroSerre, with the addition of the Tennessee facility as well as the Mexican partnership, is now poised to expand throughout the U.S. and western Canadian markets. I am very proud to be part of that growth process."
