Pro*Act appoints Robert Kiehnle as CFO
Monterey, CA-based Pro*Act, a leading fresh produce supplier to the foodservice industry, has appointed Robert Kiehnle as chief financial officer.
Mr. Kiehnle brings more than 25 years of financial management experience to Pro*Act. Most recently, he was a partner in the Dallas practice of Tatum LLC, a nationwide professional service firm, where he provided interim executive and consulting services to a variety of clients in a multitude of industries. He will work out of Pro*Act's office in Dallas and will lead the strategic financial direction of Pro*Act and Pro*Act Specialties.
Previously, Mr. Kiehnle held positions as chief financial officer at TradeMC Inc. and WorldPoint Logistics, and he was executive vice president and CFO at Fresh America Corp.
Mr. Kiehnle earned an MBA from the University of Oregon and a bachelor's degree from the University of California-Davis.
Steve Grinstead, president and chief executive officer of Pro*Act, said that Mr. Kiehnle "has vast experience in large and early-stage companies, both privately and publicly held," and that he "has been instrumental in facilitating growth in all such environments."
Mr. Grinstead said that Mr. Kiehnle's experience in produce and transportation companies -- as well as many other industries -- would bring "tremendous value to Pro*Act."
"He has completed over 25 acquisitions in his career and has proven abilities in strategic growth planning and implementation," Mr. Grinstead said. "We are very fortunate to have him join our team."
Mr. Grinstead said that Pro*Act "plans to grow aggressively both organically and via acquisition or merger when appropriate," and that Mr. Kiehnle's "depth in experience will help us facilitate our growth strategies regardless of which form the developing opportunities take."
Mr. Kiehnle replaces Bill Hicks, who had split his time between being chief financial officer for Pro*Act and working for Hardies Fruit & Vegetable in Texas. Mr. Hicks currently is with the Hardies and Hardies South companies, both of which are Pro*Act members.
