The Produce Exchange launches 'Emeril's web site
The Produce Exchange, based in Livermore, CA, has launched a web site for the "Emeril" brand line of products. The Produce Exchange is the exclusive sales, marketing and distributing agent for the brand.
The web site is separate from the www.emerils.com site that Chef Emeril Lagasse uses for his overall business.
Ease of navigation makes The Produce Exchange's site (www.emerilsproduce.com) the source and center for products, recipes and information on fresh produce. The site has several features for the "Emeril's" consumer that highlight the entire line of "Emeril's Gourmet Produce."
The "Products" section on the site includes descriptions and helpful information on how to store and handle "Emeril's" gourmet produce, including salads, herbs and tomatoes.
The "Did you know?" section has tips and information about an item, and there's a section on storage and handling. The new web site also includes exclusive recipes from Chef Lagasse.
Consumers can find what is best in the market under the site's "It's in Season" section, which includes a monthly feature that lets consumers know what the freshest produce in the market is throughout the year. The site's "Contact Us" section is a direct line to those who grow and sell Emeril's produce.
Dennis Werner, general manager of The Branded Group within The Produce Exchange, said that the new site -- which is linked to www.emerils.com -- has been up for about a month but more or less has been in stealth mode. "We're getting a fair amount of traffic," Mr. Werner said, adding that people searching for products are stumbling upon the site.
Doug Wyrick, director of marketing and product development at The Produce Exchange, has been handling e-mail inquiries from consumers seeking recipes and wanting to know where to find product, Mr. Werner said. In its guise as a marketing arm for the "Emeril's" line, this is The Produce Exchange's "first opportunity to talk to consumers," Mr. Werner said.
San Juan Bautista, CA-based Pride of San Juan continues to manage the primary farming operations.
