Ready Pac names new VP of marketing
Ready Pac announced the hiring of Steve Dickstein as vice president of marketing, where he will be responsible for achieving growth objectives in brand value, market share and profitability.
He succeeds Bill Zinke, who resigned to pursue other opportunities.
Mr. Dickstein, who reports to Larry Kern, president and CEO, has more than 20 years of high-profile marketing management experience, having worked as marketing director for North America in the Pet Care Division of Mars Inc., where he helped build leading pet food and confectionary brands. He also led marketing on various Clorox cleaner and laundry products.
The hiring of Mr. Dickstein comes at a time when competition in the fresh-cut produce industry has been heating up. Last fall, Ready Pac acquired the Salad Time division of Tanimura & Antle in a move that combined the No. 3 and No. 4 fresh-cut salad distributors. And just last month, Chiquita Brands International threw its hat into the fresh-cut scene in a major way with the purchase of Fresh Express from Performance Food Group.
?Ready Pac is pleased to have a marketing executive of Steve?s caliber join the management team," said Mr. Kern. "He has the right perspective and proven track record to help take the company to the next level. We look forward to his valuable contributions."
A graduate of UCLA, Mr. Dickstein holds an MBA in marketing and finance as well as a bachelor of science degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
