Frontera unveils new transportation group
Frontera Produce Ltd. in Edinburg, TX, has added a new transportation group as part of its growth plan for 2007.
Realizing the need to reduce freight costs and develop a more efficient method of securing transportation, the company turned its focus to developing an in-house team dedicated to timely and reliable deliveries. To manage this program, Larry Stone and Dewayne Finn have joined the company, bringing with them an extensive background in transportation and logistics.
"Finding more efficient ways to reach our broadening customer base has been a major focus for Frontera over the last 12 months," Will Steele, a partner in the company, said in a statement. "Managing these services internally seems to be the best strategy to ensure the service level we are committed to providing our customers. We are excited to have both Larry and Dewayne join our team and look forward to the growth their expertise will bring our organization."
Recent years have seen tremendous growth for Frontera Produce. The company has been steadily expanding its product and service portfolio with the addition of an imports program in 2004, the acquisition of several growing partnerships in Central America and South America, and significant resource allocation to the integration of RFID technology into its operations.
Frontera, which is celebrating its 15th year in business, has extensive growing operations throughout the United States as well as Mexico, Canada, Central America and South America, and offers an extensive line of fresh products such as cabbage, carrots, cilantro, peppers, melons, onions and tropicals.
