Doug Thurston joins PakSense
PakSense Inc. announced that industry veteran Doug Thurston has joined the Boise, ID-based company as director of North American sales.
Mr. Thurston comes to PakSense from Bolthouse Farms in Bakersfield, CA, where he was director of sales since 2002. He was also employed for more than 20 years by Albertson's, where he served at various regional locations in a number of roles including procurement manager, buyer, produce manager and in quality control.
In his new role at PakSense, he will be responsible for expanding the use of PakSense temperature-monitoring labels between suppliers and retail distribution centers and stores.
PakSense manufactures the "TXi Smart Label," which monitors temperature and time of a perishable product through distribution.
"PakSense is revolutionizing the way temperature monitoring is done in the food industry," Mr. Thurston said in a statement. "PakSense labels, because of their low cost and ease of use, will promote more temperature monitoring throughout the cold chain."
"We are pleased to have Doug join our increasingly expanding team," David Baldwin, vice president of sales and marketing at PakSense, said in the statement. "His commitment to the company and excitement about our products further validate that there is a need for a temperature-monitoring device that is optimized for the produce industry."
