Giumarra Cos. on the mark with Chilean fruit programs
Giumarra Cos.’ Southern Hemisphere division is currently importing Chilean grapes and stone fruit, including peaches, plums and nectarines.
Craig Uchizono, vice president of Southern Hemisphere, said these items will wrap up in early April.
“Following these programs we will move into persimmons in late spring, around April or May,” said Uchizono. “We also offer a selection of Chilean apples during spring and summer, as well as citrus and other exotics. The Chilean kiwifruit season is starting now and will run through summer and fall.”
The Giumarra Cos. is a produce marketing company comprising independent sales teams, each unique in its product offering yet bound by a common thread of uncompromising service to its customers and growers.
All of its sales teams are backed by excellent food safety, quality control, logistical and marketing support designed to ensure that the safest, best-tasting products reach consumers. The companies service all regions in the U.S., including Hawaii.
“We also sell to customers in Canada,” noted Uchizono. “We work largely with retailers, but our customer base includes all sectors of the produce industry, including foodservice operators, wholesalers and industrial operations.”
The Giumarra Cos. ships products under the “Nature’s Partner” brand. Products packed under the label represent some of the highest quality fruits and vegetables in the marketplace, having met strict standards for food safety, quality control and flavor.
