Gilroy, CA-based Christopher Ranch has grown superior California garlic on its privately owned farms for over 50 years. Today the Christopher Ranch brand is recognized across North America, for not only garlic, but for its extensive line of high-quality specialty items.
In addition to Gilroy, the company services its customers from its warehouse and distribution facilities in Los Angeles, Edison, NJ, Chicago and Pompano Beach, FL.
Patsy S. Ross, marketing director for Christopher Ranch, said the company opened its Pompano Beach operation in 1997.
Christopher Ranch offers garlic in options that meet every need.“The original need to operate from this location came from wanting to service our retail customers in that region,” explained Ross. “Since then we have expanded our line tremendously, and we now service all categories of the produce industry — retailers of all sizes and scopes, wholesalers and foodservice operators.”
The company’s extensive line of garlic products includes fresh bulbs, peeled cloves and jarred items in a wide range of pack sizes to meet the needs of its individual customers.
“Our line now also includes shallots, ginger, pearl, cipolline and boiler onions, sundried tomatoes and dried chili peppers,” Ross added.
Christopher Ranch’s Florida operation also offers custom product packing for its clients.
“The Pompano Beach operation is headed up by Gus Battaglia, who is a produce veteran originally from Chicago,” she said. “He has a staff of nine to cover sales, customer service, distribution and receiving.
“Having a facility in Pompano Beach means we can easily transport items to our retail, wholesale and foodservice customers and distributors,” she continued. “The loading dock in Florida can handle multiple loads of product coming in and going out.”
