Located at the Pompano State Farmers Market, the company is a broker, distributor and importer of a wide array of locally grown to globally sourced commodities that move into the pipeline under the Myrick Produce label.
At Edward Myrick Produce Inc. were Jerry Myrick, Dan Lapinskas and Edward Myrick.The newest addition to the company’s sales team is Dan Lapinskas who has been with Myrick Produce for nearly a year. “He’s a good addition to our team,” Vice President Jimmy Myrick told The Produce News.
The company’s Plant City, FL, office is manned by Carl Boyles and Donald Buti, both of whom bring outstanding industry experience to the table.
According to Myrick, the company has built its reputation around approximately 40 core items. He said mainliners include peppers, specialty peppers, cucumbers, beans, eggplant and hard squash varieties. “Our manifest is stable,” he noted.
Myrick characterized the current growing season this way. “Weather was rough this year,” he stated. “We had lots of rain and wind.”
In addition to grower relationships within the Sunshine State, Edward L. Myrick represents Minor Produce in Leslie, GA. The grower supplies Bay View brand green beans which Myrick said continue to be a favorite at retail.
Edward L. Myrick Produce also works with growers in North Carolina to source a host of fresh commodities, and maintains a strong international grower network.
The company’s customer base is primarily comprised of retailers, wholesalers, major chains, independents and foodservice operators.
