Viva Fresh is important to Agrícola Amigo
“For Amigo, the Texas and USA market has been growing for our products in the past years,” said Carlos Buenrostro, who founded Agrícola Amigo S.P.R. de R.L. nine years ago.
Thus, the company’s participation in the Viva Fresh Expo in San Antonio is very important.
Located in central Mexico in Cortazar, Guanajuato, Agrícola Amigo is a year-round vegetable grower-packer-exporter.
At the March 31-April 2 expo, Buenrostro wants “to find new and better sales opportunities for Amigo fresh products. I want to build new, trustful relationships.”
The expo will “help vertical companies like us to go direct with the supermarkets and participate with them in delivering a quality fresh product for the final customers.”
Agrícola Amigo already enjoys a strong base with customers like Taylor Farms, Dole, The Ippolito Group, Walmart, HEB, Sam’s Club and Fresh Express.
Among the produce items grown by Agrícola Amigo are asparagus, broccoli, lettuces, radicchio, onions, coriander, parsley, kale, cabbage, sweet corn and spinach. Contract growers aren’t used because Buenrostro can’t control their operations.
Agrícola Amigo is a member of the PMA Gold Circle, the U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, and is certified by USDA Organic, Oregon Tilth and HAACP.
