Onion vet Jon Meyer joins Paradigm Fresh sales force
In addition to opening a new distribution center in Denver, Fort Collins, CO-based Paradigm Fresh has also expanded its staff, adding onion salesman Jon Meyer to the force.
According to Paradigm President John Harris, the operation has six full-time sales agents and a total of 16 full-time employees. Five of the sales team specialize in onions/potatoes and one specializes in tomatoes, cucumbers, Bell peppers and other hothouse items.

“We have really grown from the three salesmen we started with in October 2014,” Harris said. He added, “We have also added a second truck for local deliveries.”
Meyer came to Paradigm in early 2016, bringing with him a strong produce background from 10 years with Bosgraaf Sales Co. in Hudsonville, MI. Harris said Meyer’s multifaceted experience adds to the Paradigm team. Meyer will conduct sales from a branch office in Michigan.
“He, like myself has grown up in and around specifically the onion business,” Harris said. “He brings a great attitude and years of hands-on repacking and warehousing experience, which are invaluable. He knows what he is talking about when it comes to the product as he has had the past 10 years and really of lifetime of hands-on experience with the onions.”
Meyer said he looks forward to the versatility working with Paradigm brings.
“I have the opportunity to sell onions from multiple locations and have connections with so many different shippers,” he said. He also lauded Harris’s ability to lead the sales team, saying, “The company has taken many steps in technology to make it streamlined as from pickup to delivery. I am very excited to have a long career with Paradigm Fresh and to help make the company grow leaps and bounds for many years to come.
Meyer said he will handle onions from all growing regions, noting, “I will be very involved with the Michigan farms and packers because of my experience and knowledge of the area.”
As Meyer settles into his new role at Paradigm Fresh’s branch office, the Colorado company is also looking forward to its spring grand opening of the distribution center in Denver.
Adding to the full service provided by its logistics division, which was launched last June, the new distribution facility opened in late November.
The operation now brokers produce from Fort Collins, and the Denver center provides storage and distribution for “virtually any high-volume storage demands a company might have,” Harris said.
The multi-temp facility accommodates “delicate, temperature-sensitive materials and products” and provides cross docking for “efficient, direct transfer between inbound and outbound transportation vehicles, minimizing storage time and required storage space.” Computerized inventory management provides detailed inventory summaries to all its customers.
