Southern Specialties to highlight full line of specialty items at Southern Exposure
The venue for the Southeast Produce Council 2016 Southern Exposure “Produce in Paradise” expo and conference on March 3-5 in Hollywood, FL, is just a short hop from Southern Specialties headquarters in Pompano Beach, FL.
The company plans on having major representation at the event.
Southern Specialties’ asparagus from Caborca, Mexico, palletized and ready to ship.Charlie Eagle, vice president of business development for the leading grower, importer and distributor of specialty produce, told The Produce News that in addition to himself, the company’s sales team, led by Director of Sales Kristen Francisco, who joined the firm last fall, as well as other executives, will be at booth No. 507 representing the company.
“Because we’re so close to the venue, we are inviting customers and others who would like to tour our facility on Thursday or Friday of the event to contact us,” said Eagle.
He added that Southern Specialties has been a member of the Southeast Produce Council since it was founded, and it has exhibited every year at Southern Exposure.
“When it began about 12 years ago it was about one-quarter the size that it is today,” Eagle pointed out. “Despite the growth it has maintained its original goal of keeping it casual and small enough so that it benefits all who attend. The trade show has been a great advantage to our company, and has become a standard to which all regional councils can aspire.”
He also stressed how the scope of SEPC’s philanthropical endeavors has increased, and the immense amount of good they are doing for other organizations.
Southern Specialties will be exhibiting its full line of “Southern Selects” value-added items and packaging at the expo, in addition to its bulk offerings.
“The show launches at the mid-point of our Caborca, Mexico, asparagus season,” explained Eagle. “This program runs through mid-April. It is part of our year-round asparagus program, which also includes Peruvian supplies.”
Eagle added that the Southern Exposure event brings together the top representatives from the best retail and foodservice companies in the nation.
“It provides us with the opportunity to emphasize the value that Southern Specialties brings across the board to retail, foodservice operation and wholesale attendees,” said Eagle.
