ASCFG 2016 Growers’ School sets dates in Louisiana
The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers Spring Growers’ School is scheduled for March 6-7 at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center in Baton Rouge, LA, according to a news release. The two-day event offers 10 different educational workshops along with a Q & A session hosted by John Dole, head of Horticultural Science at North Carolina State University, and Mimo Davis Duschack, horticulture regional educator at Lincoln University.
The first day’s focus is “Everyone Started Somewhere,” with a panel of speakers who have built their flower farms from the ground up and continue to succeed as commercial growers.
The day ends with an after-dinner Q-and-A session.
The second day is all about “Floral Finesse and Flair” with master marketers teaching the best way to present products across a range of markets. Also, three live floral design sessions will cover perfect bouquets for grocery and markets, wedding bouquet trends, accessories, and reception arrangements.
