California Giant getting ready for the Super Bowl
California Giant Berry Farms has teamed up with Cabot Cheese to build a game-worthy spread as football fans across the country make their plans to watch the Super Bowl Feb. 7.
Research shows the Super Bowl is the second-biggest eating day (Thanksgiving being the first) of the year. Additionally, 91 percent of those watching the big game do so with family, friends or both. So California Giant decided to get in on the menu and bring a little fresh flavor to the table this year with partner Cabot Cheese and some new recipes fit for all fans — regardless of which colors they are wearing.
These two companies have created several ideas to shake up the menu this year beyond the typical buffalo wings that adorn every big game potluck — from game warm ups like fresh berry bruschetta to a main dish of blackberry beef chili and ultimately celebration (or post-loss comfort) dessert of chocolate greek yogurt cupcakes.
However, if fans still lean toward that comfort food of wings, guacamole and cookies, there are California Giant recipes for that too: raspberry chipotle hot wings and strawberry pepper salsa for all those avocados and blueberry chocolate chip cookies.
For the next two weeks as players begin practice for the big game, California Giant's trading partners are stocking up their stores for shoppers on the hunt for their Super Bowl spreads whether they are hosting a party, attending a party or just filling up the coffee table with food for the family. At the same time, California Giant is using all of its social media channels to make sure fresh berries are on the menu Sunday, Feb. 7.
