Leamington, Ontario-based NatureFresh Farms is a healthy combination of grower, packer and distributor of high-quality fresh greenhouse grown vegetables.

Chris Veillon, director of marketing, said the combination extends to a greenhouse builder.

“Our sister company, South Essex Fabricating, also headquartered in Leamington, has been in metal fabricating since 1994,” said Veillon. “Initially specializing as a fabricator of commercial greenhouse parts, equipment and structures, its expertise has expanded to include metal fabricating and assembly.”

The company produces a full line of greenhouse tomatoes, including specialties and heirlooms, sweet bell peppers and cucumbers. The company markets its produce under the “NatureFresh” label.

“Our organic line currently includes bell peppers in red, yellow, orange and green,” said Veillon. “Nature Fresh Farms has increased its organic acreage by 100 percent this year — from 4.5-acres a year ago to nine acres, all in Leamington.”

The company has a wide network of client partners that range from independent to large chain retailers across North America, to whom it ships its Non-GMO verified produce.

“Although NatureFresh Farms ships primarily throughout the eastern and mid-western areas of North America, we also ship as far south as the southeast region,” said Veillon.

The company’s excitement — matched by its success — is also apparent in its new Delta, OH, greenhouse facility. Phase I, 15.30 acres, was completed in late fall 2015. NatureFresh broke ground on Phase II, also 15.30 acres, in January, which will be completed this summer.

“Our master development plans call for Phase III, another 15.30 acres, to break ground later this spring with completion in mid-fall 2016,” said Veillon. “In less than one year, NatureFresh Farms will have constructed 45 acres of high tech greenhouses in Delta, OH, in order to grow year round.”

Combined with its Leamington production, NatureFresh Farms will grow and market 175 acres of its own production when the project is completed.

Veillon announced two new key employees to the Nature Fresh Farms’ staff.

“Bob Jajkowski joined us as general sales manager last July, and Kara Badder joined NatureFresh as marketing coordinator in August,” said Veillon.

The company has grown to become one of the largest independent greenhouse vegetable growers in Canada, as well as one of the largest greenhouse pepper growers in North America. It has remained family owned since its founding.

“We have experienced tremendous growth in the organic market, with a significant demand for organic bell peppers,” said Veillon. “Due to this demand we have doubled our organic acreage for 2016.”
