Florida Strawberry Festival is a piece of Americana
The 2016 Florida Strawberry Festival will roll out the red carpet and welcome visitors to experience a piece of Americana March 3-13.
The annual event, held in Plant City, FL, has been celebrating the Sunshine State’s strawberry industry since 1930. The festival concept was originally conceived by the Plant City Lions Club. This club and other civic organizations continue working together to make this a signature event in the United States.

“And while it is an outstanding showcase of the local area, the Florida Strawberry Festival has never been subsidized by taxpayers,” the website notes.
Activities are available for both children and adults. They include a rich concert schedule of headline entertainment, an active Belle City Midway, the Sunnybelle Kiddie Koral and free entertainment. The Neighborhood Village, sponsored by Kitchen Craft, is located at the east side of the festival grounds and features homemade and home-crafted items from the community.
World-famous strawberry shortcake is available at three locations, and attendees can purchase Florida strawberries throughout the event.
