RBest Produce names James Bonaro SVP
Philip and Carl DelPrete, co-owners of RBest Produce Inc., have named James Bonaro as the company's senior vice president with a partnership interest in the company.
Bonaro has served RBest Produce for the past 30 years. He began his career as an assistant buyer in the Hunts Point Terminal Market in 1979 and then moved on to his own business for the next few years before joining RBest in 1985.
Originally hired as warehouse supervisor, he was soon promoted to manager of quality control and warehouse operations. In 2002, Bonaro took on the responsibility as director of the purchasing department and has been instrumental in developing relationships with premium labels and raising the bar on quality products sold through the company. Bonaro was promoted to vice president five years ago. Most recently, he managed the relocation and construction of the new 70,000-square-foot state-of-the-art PRIMUS-certified facility in Port Washington, NY.
“James has proven his ability to lead the company by example of hard work and dedication," Philip and Carl DelPrete said in a press release. "We are confident that he will lead the team and the company to new levels of growth in our new facility.”
RBest Produce, Inc. was founded over 35 years ago and has grown steadily through the years. The company distributes high-quality fresh produce to supermarkets and foodservice operations with conventional, organic and tropical produce throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachussetts, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
