New York Apple Sales, headquartered in Castleton, NY, has a strong inventory of regional favorites this season. Apple varieties include McIntosh, Empire, Gala and Jonagold.
“The fruit is in very good condition and we have good supplies of both bulk fruit and promotable quantities of bagged fruit,” said Kaari Stannard, owner and president of the company. “Supplies of Fuji and Cripps Pink are eating very well, and we should have these varieties available for the next couple of months.”
Beginning in December, New York Apple Sales became the exclusive marketer of Scotian Gold Honeycrisp from Nova Scotia, Canada.
“We are thrilled to be the sole American importer of these great Honeycrisp apples,” said Stannard. “Supplies are in great condition and we expect to market this fruit through March of 2016.”
When the Scotian Gold Honeycrisp are finished, New York Apple Sales will begin to market the Honeycrisp imported from New Zealand.
“This will mark the third year that New York Apple Sales is importing and selling this fruit in the U.S.A.,” noted Stannard. “Volumes continue to increase as the trees mature. We expect the New Zealand Honeycrisp program will be available through June 2016.”
In May 2016, the company will begin selling the exciting “KORU” brand apples imported from New Zealand. Stannard said the “KORU” has an aromatic sweet honey flavor and audible crunchiness.
“We anticipate a three-month season on this imported fruit,” explained Stannard. “The fruit will be available in bulk and two-pound high-graphic pouch packs.”
