Chile Country Council Chairman Miguel Allamand recognized at council meeting
Outgoing Produce Marketing Association Chile Country Council Chairman Miguel Allamand of Exportadora Subsole was recognized Dec. 3 at the council meeting in Santiago.
In a press release, PMA stated that the council and incoming Chairman Christian Corssen of Compania Frutera Santa Maria S.A. praised Allamand for his role and contribution as chairman over the past four years.

Corssen said, “It is a privilege to have such a great team of volunteers on the council with such excellent ideas. As we move forward in this transition, we will work to transform these bright ideas into reality with a feasible strategic plan for the upcoming years.”
The PMA Chile Country Council guides the association’s activities in Chile to help PMA deliver local and global member value. Council members actively promote the programs and benefits of PMA and its foundation, work for the success of PMA events in Chile, and aid in retaining existing members and recruiting new members.
Chilean members from all sectors of the produce supply chain constitute the Chile Country Council. The council identifies industry-related issues in Chile and provides tools to help produce professionals overcome industry challenges.
Among those tools are programs in Chile. These programs include PMA Fruittrade, breakfast seminars, fruit donations at the annual Chile Marathon and an in-country Young Professionals program.
“There was excellent participation and interaction from the group at the council meeting as we discussed key issues and challenges in today’s market and their expectations for the next three to five years,” stated Nancy Tucker, PMA vice president of global business development.
